Project Managers
Every project needs a manager - someone to oversee and encourage, and most importantly, meet the needs of our client in a professional and respectful manner. Good project managers are essential to our efforts.
Listed below, you will find a "to-do list" for the two types of project managers we utilize. Please review and let us know if you'd like to fill this important role. Project management is quite fun if you are skilled at the task, well-organized, a good communicator, and enjoy leading others.
Painting/Staining Project Manager*
-
Connect with our Director prior to the project date to review the project and pick up materials (stain, brushes, etc.).
-
On project day, arrive at the site 30 minutes early to review the project and prep for the group (start time will be 10 am - allows time for the morning dew to burn off).
-
Communicate with the homeowner and let them know what you're up to.
-
Make sure volunteers have signed a Volunteer Waiver Form.
-
Provide clear directions to volunteers on project specifics.
-
Space volunteers out - place inexperienced painters with experienced painters (painting is a skill to be learned and young painters will need close supervision).
-
Keep the work site tidy - paints cans are easily toppled.
-
Provide lunch for the group (H&H will provide cash and order forms to purchase sandwiches, etc. from Ingles). Experience tells us that 11:00 am is the best time to arrive at the Deli counter to place orders. You may utilize another volunteer to accomplish this task.
-
Designate a photographer to record your work. We need before/after shots, action photos, video footage, and a group photo.
-
Supervise volunteers as needed to assure the job is done thoroughly and professionally... while offering profuse encouragement.
-
Oversee wrap-up - brushes are cleaned, supplies are rounded-up and the area is left clean and tidy.
-
Communicate with the homeowner before you leave.
-
Drop off materials at a pre-arranged location.
-
Record volunteer hours and submit to the Director.
