A middle-aged couple is living in a converted garage. Until a recent group of volunteers installed flooring, they lived on a dirt floor for 6 years.
They live beside a friend who provides the property, power and a shared bathroom. They have no running water, no bathroom/shower and no kitchen in the garage. The couple cook on an outdoor grill and wash dishes with a garden hose.
The garage foundation, walls, and roof are good, but everything else is not up-to-code. The building needs to be properly wired and needs a bathroom and kitchen. The couple will need temporary housing while the interior work is completed.
